This month’s movie, A Film About a Pudding, is easily found and watchable online.
Mr. F runs the “Critic-in-Residence” program at Camp Ernst Middle School in Burlington, KY. Students watch short films through the eyes of a specific professional critic in order to promote critical thinking and ELA skills.
This month, two 6th grade classes watched A Film About a Pudding through the eyes and brains of Shea Serrano, celebrating the details that delight them and expressing their excitement through figurative language. One 8th grade class viewed the film as Gene Siskel might, analyzing the film’s story structure to figure out why they liked or didn’t like the story.
Here are the students’ amazing thoughts on the film!
“SHEA SERRANO-ESQUE” TAKES (written by 6th graders):
There's a somber moment where the girl takes off her hat.The girl takes off her hat as the somber music plays and she prepares to die.She actually, unlike fully grown men and women accepts her death by being swallowed by 10 tons of pudding screaming at her work window.
There's this funny moment in this movie scene when an elevator is so heavy it is like the weight of an elephant! In this scene a bunch of people go in one elevator and the elevator starts screaming, "exceeding the weight limit" "exceeded the weight limit". Then the people in the elevator discover that there is an empty elevator right beside them they can go in, so they end up going in that one and that one says the same thing so they end up not going anywhere. This moment is so funny because these people trying to ride the elevator up have obviously never been on one before because when they see that there was another empty elevator right besides them everyone goes in the same elevator again instead, they could have balanced the weight limit out by half of the people going in one elevator and the other half of people going in the other elevator.
The last sticky note being put on the cracked windows, and then the windows breaking is very funny because ONE sticky note broke an entire wall of windows seems hilarious because it should only break the one window. It was like the windows were screaming when they broke.
There is a cool as ice moment when the construction workers kept moving the traffic cone every time the pudding got bigger. When the pudding got big enough that it touched the road, the workers came, put the cone down, and shook hands with their manager. Then they waited for each time when the pudding got bigger. One might find this scene funny because they are not fixing the problem in any way.
There is a weird moment where some people are floating in the pudding like they are frozen in time. I remember the pudding was red and there were little bubbles in the pudding. This scene is so awesome because I love how much detail there is and how the person is just floating.
There was a really cool moment where the animated food turned real. She was walking down the sidewalk and had 3 bags in 1 hand. Then she dropped a bag and REAL food scattered everywhere. this moment was cool because the entire "movie" was animated then she drops it and it becomes real. It was like an animated swan in a real lake, it was so different and out of the blue my face lit up just like that.
The one cool scene was when the head was bouncing and the nose was swinging as she was walking. During the scene she was walking away from the pudding like nothing happened and while she was walking away her head was bouncing as she walked and at the same time her nose was swinging. In that sense her face looked like something like her head was like a bouncy ball and her nose was swinging like a swing from a playground.
The really cool moment where she puts the sticky note on the broken glass. The vibe was like that scene in movies where you have to defuse a bomb!
At the scene there is anonymous music then the main character looks at the sticky notes flying off the glass and notices the glass breaking, steps away from her computer where she was playing a game and had ignored 321 emails and virus warnings and saw that the red anonymous jelly was all over the building and was trying to break in so she took the one sticky note that had fallen on her head when all the sticky notes fell and then......THE GLASS BROKE (DUN DUN DUN!) and then the jelly took her and the building with it.
In the film she put a sticky note out on the glass then the glass was cracking and then she got gulped up into the pudding. In the film she put a sticky note out on the glass then the glass was cracking and then she got gulped up into the pudding. This part is funny because she tried to put a sticky note to try from the glass from breaking but she still did get sucked up into the pudding.
In the short film there's a moment that the audience would think is just as cool as Antarctica! The part was when ingredients fell, they weren't animated but instead were real, the pudding was also real instead of animated which could give the idea that the pudding symbolizes a problem that we have in real life. First of all, in the film you can see how everyone ignores it and acts like there's nothing going on and the only person that seems to care is the "Main character" but even then, they don't do much and put sticky notes to cover it and just walk past the pudding. You can compare all of that to how people work in the real world, they ignore problems, then they get bigger, and bigger, and bigger until it's too late.
There is a funny scene where she tries to protect herself with a sticky note but it doesn't work. In that scene, she's in an office on her computer playing mind-sweeper. There were sticky notes covering an entire wall that all eventually fell to reveal a huge, cracked, glass wall. On the other side of that glass wall is the pudding that she had made earlier by mistake, however this time it is giant and has taken up the entire city. She could also see the workers that were trying to get rid of the pudding, which were shown earlier in the movie, smashed up against the cracked glass. She picks up one of the fallen sticky notes, puts it back up on the glass wall, and the glass breaks, sending a huge flood of the pudding into the building which eventually carries her out of the entire city. This moment is so awesome because it's funny how she put a sticky note on a glass wall that's extremely close to breaking. It's like she was thinking "The sticky note is magical and is going to turn the wall into titanium", when in reality it's as useless to put it there as wearing a hazmat suit to mix water with ice in liquid form. (yes, I know that ice in liquid form and water are the same thing)
There's a funny yet stupid moment where the construction workers keep moving the cone and they don't do anything to fix it. They put a traffic cone down and keep moving it as the pudding grows, theirs also calm music as if there's nothing going on.This scene is like walking into a dessert shop and a dessert calling your name. This pudding keeps growing and growing causing it to seem like it is jumping at you. Yet, the people that just keep moving the cone act like nothing wrong and seem fine. Even when they're getting pushed up against the window they act unbothered like they are some kind of superhero that just got hit by a truck. Now you know what is so funny yet stupid about this film.
There's a cool moment where the pudding expands like a dino toy you put in water. Like right as the person looks at the computer the pudding grows bigger and he puts sticky notes on the glass to block it from his view. It is so cool because the pudding expands in a way like a slow-mo action movie. A slow-mo action movie is cool because it reminds me of when I was little and loves slow-mo.
There is a cool moment where the window cracked with one sticky note. In the movie ''A Film About A Pudding'' it shows '' A window cracked with only one sticky note left like it is holding on for dear life. The reason this part of the show is awesome is the simple fact there was only 1 sticky note left when the window cracked.
Throughout the scenes, people are mindless about the expanding pudding.Even when the pudding is about to swallow a woman reading a book whole, she just moves to the top of the bench. These moments are funny because the people are just continuing on with the things that they are doing inside their lives, instead of running away to other safe places to survive the flooding of the pudding.
There is a funny moment where they can't figure out the lift. The lift says too much weight when there are many people on the lift. Then the main character gets off the lift and the people rush to get on the other lift. But of course the lift says TOO MUCH WEIGHT!!!!!!! I found this portion funny because it was like they were from the Walking Dead and couldn't get to Rick Grimes cause of his high IQ. Or you could say the people acted like the zombie monsters in Last Kids On Earth trying to get them but Jake ran them over. That is why it is funny to me. Do you agree why or why not.
There is a funny moment where she takes one bite of the jelly and goes back for another bite. She fell out of the jelly and she thought about going to another city but takes a bite of the jelly then she starts to walk away but goes back to eat the jelly. This moment is so funny because she keeps going back to eat more jelly like a obese uncle at a family function going back to eat the rest of the cookies.
One cool detail from the movie is when the people on top of the building play tennis and still play when the movie was eating them alive with the food.In the scene there where people playing tennis and not looking behind them only wanting to beat the other person in a 1vs1 duel to the DEATH (not actualy)! The moment was awesome because they didn't care they just wanted to win in tennis.
There is a funny moment where she just stares at the pudding and it is like her eyes are burning holes in it and then she blocks her view of it with a post-it note. In the scene she is staring at the pudding and the sound effects used are intense. When she blocks her view of the pudding it just goes completely quiet as if she got rid of it. This moment just stands out because it is funny and dramatic.
The moment that I found very interesting is the part where at the end when she gets flashbacks of the groceries falling and the ingredients combining together then she turns around sighs and starts eating the pudding which leads me to a conclusion that she might've been on a diet and the temptation of desert overtook her. The evidence chosen was, She swims out of the red pudding, gets the flashbacks of the eggs falling and the milk falling, then sighs, then flashback she sees the milk and eggs combining together, uniting to make a pudding then gets out of her head and then she squints her eyes and rubs them. Then sighs very loudly, turns around, grabs a piece and starts downing the pudding then it ends. This evidence was chosen because it connects to me because it shows how when everyone around me has lots of tasty, full of sugar puddings it is very tempting to just ask for a piece or just start eating it. It is like holding yourself away from paradise, it is like holding yourself away from your friends, it is like containing yourself in a cave away from the fun.
In the movie A Film About a Pudding, there is a stupid moment where the airplane crashes into the pudding. There was a very mushy weird sound after the crash. The plane was super small compared to a regular one. The driver was blind as a Kaua'i Cave Wolf Spider. The noise of the pudding when crashing was funny. It was not the first plane victim in that pudding.
There was a hilarious scene where the cars were zooming through the city. All the things I can remember from the scene is the quiet city, the engine of cars, and wind because of the cars moving. I saw very dull and gray cars, maybe 4 of them passing by for milliseconds at most. This moment was so hilarious because you don't expect it! It was so quiet and then BOOM 4 cars were speeding down as if they were hawks.
There is a cool moment where she puts the last sticky note on the window. The pudding got bigger and there were things stuck to the pudding and she put the sticky note on the window maybe thinking that it was going to help and it broke all through the window. The reason that it is cool is because it's funny and she thought that it was going to do something when it did not. That is the funny part, thinking that you did something to help when in reality it was useless or for your own state of mind. The way that the pudding broke through the window was like a slow-motion avalanche breaking a window.
There is a weird moment where music starts playing every time the pudding ingredients mix.
The eggs, custard, flour, and other ingredients mix together and this ominous creepy music starts playing and then the dessert/pudding gets a lot bigger. This moment is so cool because it really makes you feel that dread like this situation is happening to you. It feels like you're getting chased but then you finally make it to somewhere safe. It's scary but then you remember "wait this isn't happening to me."
There is an interesting moment where she tries to cover up the pudding with sticky notes and add more and more as it gets bigger. She is on her computer and looks out the window, she then sees how the pudding has gotten increasingly bigger. She is worried and tries to cover it up with a sticky note. The pudding keeps increasing in size and she is adding more and more sticky notes. She is working until she sees all of the sticky notes fall off, she looks up and sees the pudding is taking over the building. She places one last sticky note and then everything collapses. This moment is so awesome because when she places the sticky note it's like cool and scary at the same time but also her just placing sticky notes over and over again until it all broke and collapsed just like an avalanche.
There's a hilarious moment where the lady puts a sticky note up on the window. There were construction workers plastered up against the window with pudding about to break the cracking glass. The lady put a sticky note up on the cracked window to try and stop it from breaking but just a second later...BOOM!!! The glass breaks and she screams just as the pudding swallows her...and her yellow sticky note. This moment was hilarious because she thought just one sticky note would block the giant pudding. It was like a mouse trying to run from a cat.
I remember her dropping the eggs and milk, then a pudding formed and it kept getting bigger and bigger. The audience might think this part is cool because a pudding forms just from dropping some eggs and milk, and it just keeps growing and growing. The pudding was like someone hitting their growth spurt.
There is a cool moment where she kept putting the sticky notes on the window to try to not think about the pudding. In the moment she didn't like to see the pudding or was scared so she put sticky notes all over the space and if it got bigger more sticky notes and it was so cool and fascinating at that scene. Also at the moment the pudding was like calling my name to eat it saying "eat me, eat me." and she tried not to mind it and she finally realized her city is gone and she just needs to eat the pudding.
There was a cool moment when the pudding got bigger. The pudding got bigger and they showed the city and the pudding got bigger and bigger until it covered the whole city. This moment was as cool as getting your favorite thing you wanted on your birthday!
One cool detail is that the guy is building a wall out of notes so that he doesn't have to look at the problem. The guy is building a wall out of notes so that he doesn't have to look at the problem. I think it's cool that he is trying so hard to just not look at the problem. He builds a wall out of notes as if he was a builder.
There is a funny moment where some people try to get on the elevator. There are two elevators and a whole bunch of people are on one, it keeps repeating "max capacity" then this girl gets off the second one and they all run to get one the one the lady just got off of and it keeps repeating "max capacity" over and over again. This is a funny moment because they don't understand and they will never get their problem solved because they aren't listening. It is really easy to solve the problem and they can't and it just makes it funnier. when the people don't listen to the elevator it is as if they were a kid trying to boil pizza. They are very dumb.
One moment that is cool is the how realistic the pudding is and the jelly sound. The pudding is so realistic cause in the movie it shows all the sounds and how realistic the the jelly falling in general is in general. This part is so awesome because the sounds it make when the jelly drops is like a scoop of ice cream falling off the cone.
The coolest clip of the movie was when the pudding grows and takes over the city like godzilla. I know this because if the lady wouldn't have dropped the stuff the pudding wouldn't have taken over the city.I think the pudding was the coolest thing because it was like godzilla and growing up and taking over the city.
There's a funny moment where the construction workers don't help at all and instead just put one small cone down the first time they appear. On the second time they see the pudding slowly coming in on them and then instead of trying to contain it they just move the traffic cone. They appear another time once again (third times the charm right?) and this time they're smashed up against the work office window like sardines by the pudding goo (okay forget what i said about third times the charm).
There was a cool moment where the main character was in a building and a pudding got so big like a t- rex that the character puts a single sticky note on the window, so she can't see the huge pudding that is getting bigger.
One cool detail that they used in the movie is how they used real food. The eggs and flour fell on the ground and she stared at it for a while it looked like she was angry. She stepped over the flour and egg and began to walk away. Then it showed us real videos of the eggs being whisked and the flour being added in.The reason I picked this moment is I liked how it mixed them in as if the eggs were a golden bracelet and the flour was as if it were a silver necklace going perfectly with the eggs.
There is a funny moment where she puts on a sticky note. The first thing I can remember is how she put a sticky note for how big the pudding was getting.Once the pudding was huge it cracked the glass and then she put a sticky note on the glass to stop it but it didn't work and then it broke. It was a funny moment because at first I didn't think a sticky note was going to stop the pudding. Also it was funny because when the glass broke she put the last sticky note and then she got absorbed like a sponge getting water. Also like the pudding like how I eat my ice cream on Thanksgiving.
One detail that I think is cool was putting the mixing on its own. The moment was awesome because nothing can mix or cook on its own like that. The moment was awesome because nothing can mix or cook on its own like that. It was mixing like there was a ghost right there mixing the foods.
There is a realistic moment in the movie where the person hides the giant pudding with post it notes on the window. First there is 1 postit, then there is 2, then a whole window is covered. This is also a realistic moment because I mean come on we all have tried to hide from something that we were afraid of and just screams at you saying ¨you are afraid to see what is happening.¨ Could it get a bit more realistic? I don ´ t think it could.
There's a hilarious moment in the film at the office where she works. She was doing something on her computer. There were people inside the pudding. Also I could hear dramatic music when the pudding flooded. There were emails that she was getting when she saw the pudding flood. She was not even running out of the room just sitting there. Also she kept putting post it notes on her desk so she couldn't see the pudding. Nothing happened until she put the post it note on the glass. It's like the glass just wanted to walk out of the room.
My favorite part of the movie was the dreamy effect it had, because it makes the movie so much more creative and imaginative.
In the movie, weird things happen all the time, like the pudding getting bigger, the shape of the people, and random eggs cracking.
I chose this because it makes you feel like your dreaming, and it cuts all the ties of something needed to be perfect, so it adds a freeing effect just like your going sky diving.there is a funny moment in the film when the person is walking and then the person's head splits and you could see inside of his head. Inside his head the person's head kinda looks like spaghetti and it was funny because when I first looked my first thought it looked like a bowl of spaghetti. In my head I wanted to burst out laughing but I looked at it a little closer and said "Oh that is hair? " I was so confused for a second. Even though this movie was confusing and I got lost at this part it was actually really funny. Overall a good movie.
There is a funny moment in the film where the dessert eats the whole city and there is only one person left. The dessert grows every single day until it swallows the whole city. The guy who had their beanie off got inside of the dessert. The person found out that they were not in the city anymore and they were in a separate place. The person would have to walk for a very long time just to get out of the city and go to a different place. The dessert was like a tree growing each day and got to swallow the whole city.
There's a funny part in the film where the main character drops the eggs and milk/liquid and just stares at it for a good second, then walks over it and leaves. This part made me almost laugh because most people would at least try to clean it up, and when the main character walks away, it's like the eggs and milk/liquid is saying "Wait! Don't leave me here! You'll regret this!" It's like that because the eggs and milk/liquid shows up in a flashback at the end.
There was this really weird part in the movie. Where everything was like the people are cartoons and the food that girl dropped was reality. She doesn't pick it up, she just leaves it there and it kinda hunts her. she didn't pick it up and it was getting bigger every time she looked at it . It was to a point where it kinda ate the city.
There was a funny moment where the main character saw the glass start to shatter. In the film she tried to fix the cracks by putting a sticky note but then it paused for a moment and then the glass broke and she got sucked into the desert/pudding. This is really funny because she tried to fix it but she couldn't because she just caused it to break like screaming into a glass to see if it breaks. This is why this moment was so funny.
My favorite part that I think is funny is when the pudding breaks the glass after the girl puts the sticky note back on the window. The evidence is "the window cracks and the lady puts the sticky note back on the window and the pudding breaks the glass and she gets swallowed whole. The pudding grabs the lady and eats her whole like it's a piece of cake and she starts to leave." At the end she starts eating the pudding going yum yum yum.
One funny part in this movie was when the girl dropped her groceries and left them. The girl was walking with her bag of groceries and dropped them. The milk, eggs, and flour made a splosh and splatting sound. Then she sighed angrily and left them. It's like the groceries were yelling at her saying ´ ´ GET US OR THE PUDDING WILL FORM AND EAT THE WHOLE UNIVERSE LITER!
“GENE SISKEL-ESQUE” TAKES (written by 8th graders):
This story does not work. The main character wasn't introduced well, it just shows that the main character ignores the reusable bag and that doesn't show the exposition it just shows that they don't care for a reusable bag. The story doesn't connect because it just has random scenes and it doesn't go in order. These don't work because it just has random scenes, and it just doesn't make sense. It also doesn't make sense because we don't get enough details on the main character and we don't get to know anything about the main character.
the story of a film about pudding works. The main character is shown as someone who ignores her problems. The rising action was her going back the next day to find that the stuff she had left turned into a dessert. The main character uses post it notes to try and ignore her problem. The climax made it and was soon about to burst through the window then she tried covering it and it all busted through. This shows how it built up and how it went through all the levels and made you want to keep watching.
A Film About a Pudding works. The main character is introduced to us as a busy worker who works in an office building. The rising action includes dropping the ingredients and seeing them mix into a mini pudding. Over time the pudding grew and grew until it was the size of the buildings. The climax is when the pudding is breaking at the window and when the character puts the post-it note on the crack, making the pudding go through the window and swallow the character. The falling action is when the pudding swallowed the whole city, and crushed everything. The resolution is when the character escapes the pudding and tries to leave but starts to eat the cake, but we don't know what happens after because we know she's not gonna eat all of that, so we're left with a cliff-hanger. Each step builds the story up, making the pudding grow and create more terror for the character, and the story has all parts of the story structure, so this film works.
A film about a puddings story works. The main characters are introduced to us as a man/lady going shopping in a city as she drops her groceries whilst walking somewhere. The rising action includes a constantly growing pudding that's showing no signs of stopping. The main character is trying to ignore the growing pudding. The main character's story moved quite quickly. In the falling action the pudding stops growing after consuming the entire city. In the end our main character attempts to eat the city scaled pudding but fails and sounds like he's choking as the screen fades to black. Overall the pacing makes the pudding's incident feel believable and the journey feels very good.
The story doesn't work. In the movie it shows people standing on a roof while a dessert is getting bigger and bigger and the people are just playing tennis on the roof. Also they are dropping food on the ground and making a mess that starts to take down the city. Who would just stand on the roof and play tennis while there is a huge dessert taking over the city. Also you are making a mess and then you just leave it and don't clean it up so it causes a bigger mess.
The story does not work. The story shows us that elevators are not working because the weight limit is over. This proves because the story was about pudding and the elevators had no connection with the story. then the main character would just cover up the pudding with sticky notes from her window. That didn't make sense because if the story was about the pudding and it taking over the story then what was the point of her covering it up. The point of her covering it up didn't click and wasn't related to the text. Then finally there was no word in the story, the characters jsut made grunts and sounds. Finally this also proves because every story has words except this one. We need words to understand what's happening instead of just inferring what's happening. without the words we kinda just sit there and infer if this is what's actually happening or if it's something completely different.
yes i think it works it shows the lesson/theme of the movie for example around the beginning it shows the girl dropping the pudding and not cleaning it up and then there was pushing and it kept growing not doing anything about it along with the workies they just put a cone around the pushing this shows that the people are not smart and dose not wanna fix there mistakes.
The story works. The main story of the film in the climax you can see the desert getting as big as the skyscrapers and you also see airplanes crashing into the desert which shows how much it is growing since the beginning of when the person dropped the ingrediant. In the rising action you can see it start to get bigger and bigger and the person acts like she does not notice the desert is getting bigger. My reasoning of why this story is good is that there is a good plot because it lead to the climax which the climax is showing how big the desert has become which helped make the story of the film make more sense and easier to understand,
A film about pudding works. It demonstrates rising action about dropping the pudding, it also shows how it starts growing causing the city to get surrounded, it also demonstrates the girl eating the pudding at the end! This is building the movie up and what I mean is in the evidence I had stated it is stating conflict, climax, and resolution. This is building her character more, showing her characteristics that she doesn't care about the pudding until it really hurts the city.
"A film about pudding" works because it has the perfect amount of suspense to make me more interested in the film. The character is introduced walking out of an elevator and then out of her workplace the shows her walking to a grocery store to buy food then she comes out with bags of food and as she is walking she drops eggs flour and other ingredients then she just leaves after she leaves the ingredients start to mix then the next day as she is walking to work she sees the ingredients now a thing of pudding. This is because after she walked away the camera zoomed into the ingredients and started to mix and bubble up. The aftermath was when she got on the subway because the pudding was blocking the sidewalk and workers were she got onto the subway and she looked ahead and was shocked to see a person covered in the pudding thing.
A Film About a Pudding's story works. The main character is introduced to us as an employee for a really grey job firm. The conflict starts when the main character drops groceries and does not pick it up. The rising action is when all the groceries mixed together and formed a monster sized desert. The climax hits when the pudding breaks the glass and absorbs everything. At the end she starts to walk away wanting to start a new life, but the flashbacks of guilt hit her like a baseball machine, so she turns back around and decides to start eating the mess she made.
The story about the film works. The main character is introduced to us as a quiet and lazy person on earth. The rising action includes the character dropping ingredients to pudding and it mixes together and makes a growing jelly thing. The structure gently builds up until the jello eats the city because the main character did not clean his mess and ignored it. The journey of the jello makes us think that the stuff you ignore will always keep building up until you can't deal with it. This is a unforgettable life lesson. it supports my claim by how the story is actually good and well thought out.
A film about a pudding works. The main character makes a great rising action when she drops the fingerprints and does not pick them up. The character trying to pull it off cool with the sticky notes covering the pudding. This story gives ideas about not trying to push off important life changing things and that just because it's a small deal doesn't mean it can't get big.
This story works. The main character expresses her feelings without talk and with her face she shows how worried she was with what happened in the rising action. The climax was good and funny using a move of the main character with the note and after something very big. The structure was good, first they showed us the main character, after showing the rising action , and didn't have a good and because it just shows how the girl start eating and then finish the movie.
The movie doesn´t work. The main character shows a lady walking down the street when she drops her eggs and pudding but, does not pick up her mess and just leaves it there, few moments later she notices that the pudding gets bigger but, does not mind it at all until it starts eating up all of the city and takes up everything that is left. I think that this proves my evidence since it talks about her guilt of leaving her food that she bought and left it there.
The story does work. There was a girl that got some food from the store and it all fell on the ground she did not pick it up she just left it. The food that she left on the ground became a putting and started to grow and grow and took over the town. This is important because she did not want to fix her own problems and let them grow and it took over the town. She put sticky notes on the window and it did not work in fact the window broke.
the story doesn't work.the main character is introduced to us as a normal human but she is in a city of a lot of stupid people not knowing how to do things she gets out of the elevator and then the 20 of people jump on hers thinking it will work then she goes to the store to worker gives her to many then she walks home and drops ingredients and then overtime there is a little cake pudding thing then she walks past it then it grows overtime getting big then taking over the city and then she gets ate by it then she gives up and eats it.this doesn't make sense to me because the stupid people and the non stop growing cake and how she didn't take care of her problem all of this shows that this story doesn't work in the end
Yes , the movie does work. One of the best parts is when his hat comes off. and another really good part is when the pudding starts to go all over the place and take over the city . Another good part of the story is when he puts the sticky notes on the window and thinks that is going to help fix the issue but it will not fix the situation .
The movie A Film About Pudding does not work because it is not realistic and does not make a lot of sense. This does not work because in the movie when the girl took off her hat her head was flat and that did not make sense because real people do not have flat heads. This is important because some people do not like when movies make no sense because it's not how they think and her head is randomly flat.
This story does not work.In the beginning they drops eggs and flower to make a cake.In the falling action that jello cake has expanded and taking over the town.At last she starts to try to eat the jello cake to save a city. This starts of by a girl just coming from work and going to the grocery store and dropping some of her food.It make a jello cake and that starts expanding. Its expanding over a period of time, then it take over the town and she might be the last of trying to eat the jello cake and we don`t know if she fail or accomplish it.
The story, A Film About a Pudding, works because of the theme of it. In the exposition, we can see that whenever the main character drops her grocery bag, she ignores it and walks away so she won't have to deal with cleaning it up. In the resolution, after ignoring that mess for so long she can no longer ignore it because the mess turned into a pudding that engulfed the whole city, so she started to eat it. This supports that the story works because of the theme of it because it shows that if you ignore a problem it'll get bigger over time until you can't do anything else but deal with it. The story "A Film About a Pudding" works because of the metaphor hidden in the narrative; the longer you ignore your problems, the bigger they get.
A film about a pudding does not work. In the movie clip it shows us that the pudding keeps growing and growing and it wont stop and takes over the whole city. Also it grows bigger than the city and ruins everything in its path and nobody does anything about it. Another thing is that the workers and people just do nothing in general. This is important because it shows how no one cares and how if you make a mess you need to clean it because the movie showed that she didn't clean it and it grew and grew and took everything with it.
This story works because it shows the effects of people's actions. In the movie you can see how she drops her stuff and she doesn't care that she tries to ignore it but she can't because it keeps getting bigger and bigger the pudding making the characters of the story feel guilty after the desert takes over the whole city. Proving how the movie works because of these events show how if she would have pick up the things and nothing would have happened would make the movie boring and would have no effects in the movie that create the feeling of the movie which in this case is guilty.
A Film About a Pudding does not work. In the beginning it shows the people on an elevator but it's irrelevant to the story. The main character is shown taking a bunch of plastic bags and dropping the groceries on the way to her destination, how did the eggs and stuff mix together though? The irrelevance of the elevator is only showing that they aren't the brightest people but the elevator never comes back up leaving us wondering about it. Where did the things that looked like blood cells moving come from, nothing was living inside of her bag.
This movie works. The main character is introduced to us when the elevator opens the door. The conflict in the story is when the jello or cake (whatever it is) starts to expand even more and eventually takes over the whole city. The main character started worrying a lot about things that happened earlier. This matters because it shows that the main character worried about her mistakes or things that happened in her past life, and it also helps us to show that the story works. It matters because the movie has all of the things to be included.
This story does work. This story gives us evidence on how everything happened, and how the ending got as bad as it did. The story tells me how when she dropped the baking supplies, she didn't pick them up. Indicating she didn't care too much, maybe she thought it would just go away. This short film also shows us that she didn't care much about using the reusable bags. She looked at them, thought about it, and then continued to use plastic bags. This proves she didn't care much about what the ingredients would do to the ground. It didn't matter to her if something could've ended up wrong because she didn't realize what would go wrong.
The story doesn't work. The main character is introduced to us as just someone who is alone, and doesn't talk much to anyone. In the story the main character goes to the store, and as he walks home he drops his grocery bag and his eggs fall and break, his flour goes everywhere, and the milk mixes with the flour and eggs. The main character walks over the mess she made and keeps going home with the rest of her grocery bags. This makes the story not work because when the eggs fell, it cut to a real life part of eggs falling and mixing with milk and flour and red stuff. Then when it cut back to the story the main character had already walked over it and the eggs and four mixed together and made a dirty dessert.
A film about pudding does work. The main character is introduced by walking out of a lift (elevator) and then going to the store to get ingredients. The rising action is when she walks along the sidewalk grocery bags in hand until she drops some of her ingredients. She just walks away leaving the ingredients there. We see as the viewer the ingredients mixing together over time. She walks the same path the next day to work and sees a pudding was made and gets confused but goes on her way to work. She sees the pudding from her window and tries to hide with a post it note. The climax is when the pudding just grows and grows until she is sitting at her desk and all the post it notes fall and she sees the pudding cracking the windows and she places one post it note back until the whole window caves in and she gets swallowed along with the city. The falling action is when she is climbing out of the pudding and then trying to walk away until she has flashbacks and then finally decided to eat the pudding and get her city back which was the resolution. This journey thrills and satisfies us. It's an unforgettable story.
The story about a pudding does work. In the very beginning of the movie the main character got off of a full elevator, the elevator was repeating how it couldn't move because it was going past the weight limit, and instead of anyone getting off the elevator they all stood there. This shows how the characters in the movie are not the smartest because the characters didn't resolve the problem instead they did nothing about it. Also, later in the movie the pudding had flooded the entire city and was known about to break through the main character's work window, and instead of the character running away she put a sticky note and thought it would work. This shows that the main character hadn't made good decisions.
How a film about a pudding story works As a piece of visual storytelling, the narrative succeeds by advancing through three distinct, escalating stages that any viewer can clearly track on screen. First, in the exposition, we see a minimalist stick-figure woman named Ronin drop a paper grocery bag on a gray sidewalk, spilling raw eggs, milk, and flour, which she immediately turns her back on and ignores. Next, during the rising action, we see a real-life, glossy pudding topped with bright red syrup bubble up from the sidewalk mess, expanding into a giant mound while lines of passing citizens deliberately tilt their heads away to pretend it isn't there. Finally, in the climax, we see the overwhelming wave of gooey dessert completely flood underground subway tunnels and burst through office windows, filling the screen with sticky sludge until Ronin herself is entirely submerged within an environment that has been totally replaced by giant dessert structures.
The story A Film About a Pudding does work. In this film, you are introduced to a girl who buys groceries, and when she walks out onto the sidewalk, she drops her eggs. She doesn't do anything about it and just ignores the spill she caused. The next day, a pudding was placed on the exact same spot the spill was. She tried ignoring it again, but the pudding just kept growing and growing to the point where it's as large as the city she lives in. During the resolution, she tries to leave her city to another place but she keeps having thoughts about the spill and how the pudding kept growing. She finally did something about it, so she decided to eat the giant pudding until it's gone. This story has a great resolution because it shows at the end of the film that she needs to stop ignoring her problems and clean up the mess you've made. It gives the message that you should never push things to the side or run away from your problems.
The story don't work.I say this because this short story is very confusing.Like when she drop the egg she didn't even bother to clean it up.Also when the jelly was growing the workers just put cones around it instead of cleaning it up.And when she saw it growing she didn't even tell anybody that nobody is work on cleaning the in growing jelly. At the end it grew more and more to the point that it took over the whole city and she had so many flashes in her head while she was leaving the town and so she decided to eat the jelly. This proves that it doesnt work.
