I wouldn’t want to trade lives with Bobi Wine, but I’m beyond jealous of how authentic a life he’s decided to live.

It weaves an enchanting-enough spell, but I can’t help but think that many of the choices it makes leave a lot of magic in the bag.

It’s a smart update that still stays true to the classic, original story.

One gets the sense that the movie has two purposes. One: to make a fun, comedic heist movie. Two: to set Kevin Hart up as a bankable lead in an edgier genre than what we’re used to seeing him in.

Sequels and work based on IP isn’t going away any time soon. Hopefully the execs with their dollar-tinted glasses are watching this show to see how to do it right. 

I would like to commend the makeup person responsible for designing the dangling black snot on Kay’s nose. Truly gross and disturbing work, sir or madam. Well done!

Adventures are neither easy nor fear-free. But they’re an essential part of life.

The story of the University of Washington crew is an unbelievable and inspirational one. It’s one that should be told. But it should be told better than this.

This film is aimed at audiences in the single digits. Most of my criticism won’t matter to them. They will adore this movie.

Sometimes you need to be a fan of a celebrity in order to enjoy a documentary about them. This is not one of those movies. 

This definitely isn’t your grandparents’ Godzilla. It’s much more similar to the 1954 version than any of the recent American franchise films.

A year from now, I may not remember the particulars I learned about Rustin’s life. But I will remember the way he - via Colman Domingo’s electric performance - made me feel. Inspired. Grateful. Fired up, and ready to go.

Some will complain about its lack of originality. Others will rejoice while they soak in its familiar Disney vibe.

The Holdovers is a delightful coming-of-(all)-ages story.

That incredible feeling of “Dude, you had to see that OTHER MOVIE to understand what just happened!” has morphed into, “Dude, you HAVE to watch that other movie to understand what just happened.” 

Gran Turismo is a fine enough popcorn movie. You can find much worse at the summer multiplex. But here’s hoping we get more Barbies than Gran Turismos in the coming years.

I absolutely adore dumb-by-design films.

The story’s lack of surprise and insight makes us feel nearly every second of its mammoth runtime. 

Rocking out with Taylor Swift isn’t what wistful movie buffs picture when they moan about the death of cinema, but it’s harder to imagine a clearer or more vivid example of the feeling they’re longing for. 

Loki (the series) is perfect for the person suffering from MCU fatigue, but not ready to quit just yet.
