Director Brett Morgen doesn’t ask us to open up our David Bowie textbooks. He shoves us out the airplane doors, and we pray our parachutes work. We are flung into David Bowie’s world and are forced to make sense of him on our own terms.

I picture blue-faced Birdy riding a horse in front of a bunch of teenage girls screaming, “Freedom!” as they prepare to battle enormous armies of repugnant arranged marriages.

What is home? Is it a physical place? Is it the place you feel safest? Is it a place that you need to leave in order to find?

I’m watching a 57 year old woman swinging machetes at 280 pound dudes and saying to myself, “I actually like her chances in this fight.”

So far, Andor is fantastic. Its gritty tone has long simmered beneath the neutered surface of the Star Wars franchise.

Barbarian seems to want to be everything. A tantalizing thriller. A bizarre puzzle box. A gonzo slasher. I love the attitude and applaud the effort. In the end I think it reaches a little too far for its own good, but it’s still a great time.

Few trailers have ever shared more of a movie ‘s story than this one. Director Jessica M. Thompson makes up for that by delivering some of the non-surprises with way more gusto than you could ever see coming.

You’re the donut. And while you have to be aware of all those things you can see through the hole, it’s important not to focus on that stuff more than you, yourself.

Even though it’s got more on the menu, Prey never pretends to be something it’s not. Its authenticity demands your attention. Its quality keeps it.

Nope may be the least frightening of Peele’s work, but it’s the most intricately designed of the three. This film asks you to do more work than the others. But remember - the best things in life are the things you need to work for.

This finale accomplishes a rather impressive trick: despite having already seen this play out three times, it’s still gripping, intense, and a blast to watch.

Pixar diehards will dig it. I think younger audiences will also find it entertaining. But people who merely “really like” Pixar might be left wondering why this mission was necessary.

One thing you’ll love about this show is how fun, genuine and relatable it is. The reason it is all these things is because Iman Vellani is all these things.

This role is our most iconic movie star at his most iconic. He slips Mav’s helmet back on after 36 years more easily than most people brush their teeth.

The prequel era finally gets its due. Deserved or not, it’s certainly a delight.

If the horror was your favorite part of the first three seasons, this season is your jam. If not, you may want to just let this season cool for a while.

It's about time we got a positive message delivered with such style and bounce.
